How to Achieve this certificate?

The Entry Level 3 Certificate in ESOL Skills for Life
comprises the English linguistic modes of Reading, Writing, and Speaking and Listening. Learners must achieve three units (27 credits) in total:
• one unit in Reading (6 credits) at Entry 3 or higher;
• one unit in Writing (9 credits) at Entry 3 or higher;
• one unit in Speaking and Listening (12 credits) at Entry 3 or higher.

• Pre-Requisite Proficiency: Applicants should demonstrate advanced English language proficiency equivalent to ESOL Skills for Life Level 2 or provide evidence of readiness for advanced-level language learning.

• Assessment of Readiness: B2B Educators may assess applicants’ language skills through diagnostic assessments and interviews to determine suitability and support needs.

• Advanced Instructional Strategies: Employ advanced instructional strategies, methodologies, and resources to facilitate language learning at a higher level of complexity.
• In-Depth Content Coverage: Cover a wide range of topics, themes, and subject areas relevant to academic, professional, and personal interests, catering to diverse learner needs and aspirations.
• Interactive Learning Activities: Engage learners in interactive discussions, debates, presentations, projects, and collaborative tasks to promote active learning and language use.
• Individualized Support: Provide individualized support, feedback, and guidance to address learners’ specific learning goals, challenges, and areas for improvement effectively.

Assessment:

• Comprehensive Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments of learners’ language proficiency through a variety of methods, including essays, presentations, exams, debates, and research projects.
• Critical Analysis Tasks: Assess learners’ ability to critically analyze, evaluate, and synthesize complex texts, ideas, and arguments, demonstrating advanced comprehension and critical thinking skills.
• Performance-Based Assessment: Evaluate learners’ performance in authentic communication tasks, role-plays, simulations, and real-world scenarios to assess language use and effectiveness.

Employability

Tuition Fees

If you choose the study abroad option with one of King’s partner universities, you will not be charged tuition fees by the host university (although some partners do charge a small administration fee for applying). King’s will continue to invoice for a proportion of King’s tuition fees. You should also budget to pay for the associated subsistence costs, such as travel, visas, accommodation and food as well as any vaccination/immunisations required by the country to which you are travelling.   Please see the Study Abroad web pages for details of the relevant partner universities and detailed information on the fees that apply under the Course Essentials tab.

For the Year in Industry, King’s will invoice students for a proportion of King’s standard tuition fees. At present these are as follows but may be subject to change: • Home and EU students working for a full academic year will receive an invoice for £1,350 for King’s tuition fees for the year. • Overseas students working for a full academic year will receive an invoice for one third of the King’s tuition fees for the year
