The Level 2 Qualifications in Skills for Professions in Building and Construction have been developed to provide a flexible approach to study using a range of vocational units within building and construction, combined with optional units in employability and learning skills, and ‘green’ units. These qualifications are suitable for use in a range of learning situations and lend themselves to the development of individualised learning programmes.
The Level 2 Qualifications in Skills for Professions in Building and Construction are regulated by Ofqual, the qualifications regulator for England, and are registered on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

The small size of the qualification makes it ideal for learners who are not yet ready to commit to a larger qualification.
The Qualifications in Skills for Professions in Building and Construction are available at Level 2 only. (At Level 1 there are qualifications in Skills for Professions in Construction and Engineering.)
In order the gain the award in skills for professions in Building and Construction, learners must achieve a total of 6 credit values, 44 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and 60 total qualification time (TQT). The Award comprises optional units only; there are no mandatory units. Learners must achieve 6 credits in total.
• A minimum of 3 credits must be taken from the Optional Group 1 vocational units;
• The remaining 3 credits may be taken from Optional Groups 1, 2, or 3.
Assessment
• the learners are assessed through activities that are internally set by tutor/assessors;
• the activities must be designed to enable learners to meet the assessment criteria of the unit;
• learners’ portfolios of assessed evidence must be internally moderated at the Centre;
• the portfolios of assessed evidence will be externally moderated by an OCN London External Moderator.
The Level 2 Qualifications in Skills for Professions in Building and Construction are suitable for learners who:
• want to progress to/within further education or higher education in building and construction;
• need to develop learning and employability skills;
• are seeking to take on increased responsibilities in life and work;
• are seeking to enter new work areas and are looking to update and/or add to their employment skills and knowledge.
There is no minimum age for access to the qualifications, but Centres should assess the suitability of individual units when delivering to younger learners.

The UK tuition fee for the 2024-25 academic year is currently £9,250 per year. This is based on the UK Government’s cap.
The International tuition fee for the 2024-2025 academic year is £33,450 per year.
Please note that the International tuition fee is subject to annual increases in subsequent years of study, in line with B2B’s terms and conditions.
All International applicants to Undergraduate programmes are required to pay a deposit of £2000 against their first year’s tuition fee. This deposit is payable when you firmly accept an unconditional offer to study with us, and will be offset against your tuition fees when you join King’s.
If you choose the study abroad option with one of King’s partner universities, you will not be charged tuition fees by the host university (although some partners do charge a small administration fee for applying). King’s will continue to invoice for a proportion of King’s tuition fees. You should also budget to pay for the associated subsistence costs, such as travel, visas, accommodation and food as well as any vaccination/immunisations required by the country to which you are travelling. For the Year in Industry, King’s will invoice students for a proportion of King’s standard tuition fees. At present these are as follows but may be subject to change: • Home and EU students working for a full academic year will receive an invoice for £1,350 for King’s tuition fees for the year. • Overseas students working for a full academic year will receive an invoice for one third of the King’s tuition fees for the year
